In the fall of 2022 we left the restaurant we ran in Seward (Ms. Gene’s Place) and made the big move to Juneau, where our love of the arts and culture can thrive alongside the stunning scenery. At the beginning of the new year we became the full time operators of Alaska’s Capital Inn.

We have just finished our second season here and have loved every moment. As we plan on continuing the management of Alaska’s Capital Inn, we still deeply feel the call to create our own special blend of arts and services at a place of our own, which will serve as both home and business. Our dream has never been closer than it is at this moment. With all the progress made, there are still some challenges to overcome if this dream is to become a reality. So many guests along the way have specifically expressed an interest in supporting us as we take this leap of faith. We thank you, so much, for believing in us. Though it isn’t in our nature to seek this, here are some ways you can help:

Financial Support:

Here’s the most immediate help we need. In order to reach our goal, we must come up with a substantial down payment for the property. At present, we are about 80% of the way there. Any monetary donations will be accepted humbly and gratefully, with incentives for larger contributions.

The road has been a long one, full of joys and sorrows. But the two of us have always had each other to lean on, even before we met. Acquiring the place of our dreams will be a testament to what is possible with hard work, determination, and love. We can’t wait to share it with you all! 

Fundraiser Details:

  • Each donor is limited to one companion when lodging with us.

  • Bookings for rooms can begin now, but are limited to only lodging at Alaska’s Capital Inn. Once we achieve our goal of becoming owners of our own place we’ll have additional rooms available to choose from.

  • The number of nights that you wish to lodge with us cannot be split up into single night reservations. In other words a donor must lodge with us for two or more consecutive nights in order to qualify for incentives.

  • Winter season starts on October 1st and ends on May 1st. That’s a 7 month window for donors to reserve the dates they desire. There are plenty of things to see and do in Juneau during the winter months, and we’ll assist with that the best we can.

  • The option to lodge here with us will extend into the holidays. So, if there’s a couple out there that would like to spend Thanksgiving and/or Christmas in Juneau, please consider those dates as well.

  • For each donor, dinner is complementary for each night you and your companion lodge with us in correlation with your donation amount.

  • For those making a 5k donation the recipe of your choice will be treated more like a cooking workshop where you will get to cook alongside Bing & Elle, and piece together a recipe (an entrée & dessert) that you can take home with you.
